We told you that we had an appointment to have the truck serviced today. When Sal arrived at the Chevy dealership, he asked if they could also look at the tailgate.
He was told by a very negative service person that they couldn't accommodate our tailgate fix without a 2 day notice. They said it would take them that long to get parts. They sarcastically suggested he go to the Buick dealership.
So off he went to the Becker Buick Pontiac GMC dealership. The first Becker dealer he went to said they were only a sales office, but gave him directions to the Becker Service Shop. But before he could leave the lot, one of the sales people insisted on taking a look at the tailgate. He made a slight adjustment to the locking post that would allow us to use the tailgate if we were unable to get it repaired.
Then off Sal went to the Service Center. Not only the Service Manager, but also the Body Shop Manager, examined the tailgate. Between them they devised a solution to the problem, new parts were acquired and installed. The truck was then serviced, washed, and ready to go in short order. Total time in the shop was from 10AM to 3:30PM, and remember this dealer had not given us an appointment.
