Sorry that we sort of abandoned the blog without notice. We arrived in Portland during evening rush hour. Boy, was that an experience!!! It took us about 90 minutes to travel less than 20 miles in bumper to bumper traffic. But it was our own fault. We needed to do a little shopping, and spotted a Walmart Superstore just off the interstate at 3PM. And anyone who can get in and out of a Walmart Superstore in less than an hour, I salute; particularly one in which you've never shopped. So bottom line, we spent just enough time resupplying the rig to get caught in evening rush hour traffic. Another lesson learned...
Then when we arrived in the RV Park, the office was closed. They had a late check in box. So our reservation with site assignment was in the box. The after hours host directed us to our site. But we did not have a password for their WiFi. So we couldn't post that night.
Then during the night, midnight to be exact, we heard a popping sound; which was immediately followed by rushing water. A connection to one our water lines had vibrated loose, and disconnected. Another long story short, Sal turned off the water, found the problem and fixed it. Additionally, he wisely tightened all the other connections while he was in the vicinity.
Friday morning we moved on to Spokane, but not before stopping to see Multnomah Falls in OR. Pics will follow when we have time. We are with a very dear friend for four days. He and Sal were in the Navy together in the 50's, and have remained fast friends ever since.
After 4,000 plus miles thus far, we're having the truck serviced tomorrow. Then we'll be back on the road on Tuesday. We'll spend one travel night on the road, and be in Glacier on Thursday afternoon. From that point on, our internet access will be spotty. We'll find internet cafes or whatever as we travel from Glacier to Yellowstone and the Tetons.
Thanks for traveling with us, we hope you enjoy the remainder of the trip...
Fay
P.S To the person who asked for a picture of the two of us, we'll accommodate you as soon as we find a high speed internet access point again.
