What a great day we had today. Pulled out of the campground a little later than planned, but so what. We have finally realized that we don’t have to hold to a perfect schedule. We created a trip plan that keeps us on the road for about 6 hours max per day. So what difference does it make whether we get started at 8 or 9, we’re still in our next destination by mid afternoon.
So we slowed down and ‘smelled the roses’. While crossing IN, IL and part of MO, at times we saw nothing but corn fields as far as the eye could see. And if we weren’t in the midst of corn, we saw fields of beans, green and fresh. What a beautiful site. May sound hokey to some, but we thoroughly enjoyed it.
We pulled off the interstate at one point, and stopped in a log (or log look like more likely) Native store. Most of the items were touristy, but they did have one level which was genuine Native art. We enjoyed the talent of the artists.
We’re tired tonight, but tomorrow is a down day. We’ve scheduled a rest day. We’ll do some sight seeing tomorrow in the St Louis/St Charles area. We’ve already had one thrill today, or maybe I should say I had a thrill. I was behind the wheel when we crossed the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers. What a site, can’t wait to take a closer look tomorrow.
Photographs are coming. The site we upload our photos to was down last night (first time we’ve had internet access)
. So we’ve delayed posting, awaiting photo inclusion. Have decided to post updates, and add photos when we can.
One last comment for our Outbackers Family. We saw an Outback TT about 10:30 AM on the I-70 detour (on 465) in Indy. Was that you? We’ve seen lots of Keystone TT’s and 5er’s, but that’s the first OB we’ve seen thus far.

Hi there!! I am enjoying your blog! You are so right about being flexible with the schedule, otherwise you'd be too stressed!!
Funny about the plug..:).

Hi- I have enjoyed your blog! So nice to have a day to day account, it almost like being along. Just relax and have a great time. I know the drive over the Mississippi and Missouri rivers. We live in Kansas City, and make the drive to St. Louis often. Take it easy, be safe, and God Bless. Heidi (Gunsmokesetters - Ouback forum.
